Arlo has welcomed a new addition to its Pro Series of security cameras – the Arlo Pro 4 Wire-Free Spotlight Camera featuring 2K HDR video quality, an integrated spotlight with colour night vision and 160-degree field of view.

Unlike its predecessors, the Pro 4 connects directly to W-Fi for easier set-up as a standalone solution or to complement an existing Arlo ecosystem, without the need for a Base Station or SmartHub.

It features a wire-free and weather-resistant design, built-in smart siren that can either be triggered remotely or automatically, two-way audio and rechargeable battery that can last up to six months on a single charge.

The Pro 4 works with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Samsung SmartThings and IFTTT for increased automation and control.

Arlo vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, Brad Little said the new Pro 4 offers improved connectivity by allowing direct to Wi-Fi installation.

“We want to provide consumers with the option to choose the most suitable installation method. Coupled with customised Arlo smart notifications via the app, users can confidently monitor and manage their security,” he said.

The Pro 4 Camera is supported by Arlo’s AI subscription-based service, Arlo Smart, with a complimentary three-month trial included. Arlo Smart provides extended 30-day rolling cloud storage of 2K HD video recording, as well as smarter and customisable notifications that detect people, vehicles, animals or packages.

The Pro 4 is now available in a single cam option for RRP $369, two-camera kit for $699 or four-camera kit for $1,299.
