Apple has released the third generation of AirPods featuring spatial audio with advanced features wrapped in a new, coloured contoured design. By combining the power of the H1 chip with an Apple-designed acoustic system, the new AirPods use computational audio to deliver breakthrough sound with Adaptive EQ.

Users can enjoy spatial audio featuring Dolby Atmos in Apple Music, movies and TV shows, along with dynamic head tracking, across Apple devices.

The new AirPods are resistant to sweat and water and feature a force sensor for easy and intuitive control of music and phone calls. The extended battery life enables up to six hours of listening time and up to 30 hours of total listening time with the convenient charging case.

This new family of headphones will be available from October 26, with an RRP of $279 while AirPods 2nd generation will be available at the new RRP of $219.

Apple has also released the HomePod mini in three bold colours. At just under 8.5 centimetres tall, HomePod mini offers a music-listening experience in addition to Siri and smart home capabilities, with privacy and security, built in.

There is access to more than 90 million songs delivering big sound via a compact speaker. The full-range driver, premium neodymium magnet and force-cancelling passive radiators produce deep bass and crisp high frequencies. An acoustic waveguide directs the flow of sound down and out from the bottom of the speaker for an immersive 360-degree audio experience making it easy to place anywhere in a room.

Siri can recognise the voices of up to six different household members, tailor music and podcasts to their preferences, and respond to personal requests.

Controlling smart home accessories comes with simple voice commands, while the Intercom gives quick connect at home and works with the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods and CarPlay.

Later this year, Siri is expanding support for multi-user voice recognition to all regions where HomePod mini is available so everyone in the home can enjoy music tailored to their taste profile, access their own playlists, use Personal Requests and more.

The HomePod is available from November in yellow, orange and blue in addition to white and space grey for $149 RRP.
