Apple has added the colour purple option to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, seven vibrant finishes to the latest iMac and released a new iPad Pro.

Both iPhones carry an advanced dual-camera system, Super Retina XDR display and IP68 water resistant rating all within a sleek, flat-edged design. Both models ship with iOS 14.5 for unlocking the iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a face mask. Updates include an advanced Apple Podcasts app and MagSafe high-powered wireless charging with easy-to-attach accessories, also in a selection of colours. The iPhone 12 is powered by the A14 Bionic, claimed to be the fastest chip in a smartphone.

The new purple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB starting at A$1,349 RRP and A$1,199 RRP before trade-in, respectively.

The all-new iMac features a breakthrough Mi chip and 4.5K Retina display in a more compact, slim design. Other features include a 1080p Face Time HD camera, studio-quality mics, a six-speaker sound system and for the first time, Touch ID for easier log in, Apply Pay purchasing or for switching user profiles.

The 24-inch iMac will be available mid-May, in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver, from A$1,899 RRP.

Apple has unveiled the iPad Pro also featuring the Mi chip, ultra-fast 5G, a 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display and up to 2TB of high-speed storage, that according to Apple, makes the device the fastest of its kind on the market. A new 12MP ultra-wide front camera with Centre Stage allows users to be perfectly framed for video calls.

Additionally, there is Thunderbolt and USB4 delivering 4x more bandwidth for wired connections than the previous iPad Pro. Another new feature, the Magic Keyboard, offers a new typing experience with backlit keys, integrated trackpad and floating design.

It comes in 11 and 12.9-inch versions, in 128GB, 256GB, 1TB and 2TB configurations, with RRPs starting from $A$1199.

Apple TV 4K device with new Siri remote

Apple has released 4K TV, its next generation device in home entertainment with simple and intuitive controls that work seamlessly with Apple devices and services. It delivers high frame rate HDR with Dolby Vision and the A12 Bionic chip provides a boost in graphics performance, video decoding and audio processing. 

A new design Siri features an innovative click pad control with five-way navigation for better accuracy as well as being touch-enabled for fast directional swipes. There is also a new power button for controlling power and mute. It is compatible with previous-generation Apple TV4K and Apple TV HD.

RRPs for Apple TV 4K start at A$249 and the Siri Remote is RRP A$79.

Apple has also moved into the next chapter of podcasting with Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, a global marketplace for listeners wanting premium subscriptions and free shows on Apple Podcasts.

The subscriptions include a variety of benefits curated by creators such as ad-free listening, access to additional content along with early or exclusive access to new series.

With iOS 14.5 listeners can access a redesigned Apple Podcasts app with an enhanced Search tab for to Top Charts and categories.

Belkin supports Apple AirTag accessory

Belkin has introduced the Secure Holder to attach Apple’s new AirTag to belongings such as car keys or a backpack. AirTag is a small and lightweight accessory that taps into the global Find My network to enable iPhone users to keep track of and find items using Apple’s Find My app with privacy and security built-in.

The Belkin Secure Holder comes in two variants with Key Ring or with Strap featuring an innovative twist-and-lock closure to keep AirTag safely secured in place, while raised edges help to protect against scratches. It is available in four colors – black, white, pink and blue.
