Andoo Australia, part of the Winning Group, has fulfilled its $500,000 pledge to flood impacted communities by delivering furniture, bedding and appliances to areas of western Sydney on Monday.
Andoo has come together with charity partner, Good360 to provide assistance to flood-affected communities this year, donating immediate financial assistance and essential products to those in need.
On Thursday 15 December, over $100,000 worth of furniture, mattresses were distributed in Mullumbimby and Lismore by Andoo’s logistics business, Winning Services. This is in addition to over $200,000 worth of products that was delivered to these communities in June of this year.
On Monday, almost $140,000 was delivered to western Sydney, specifically to the flood affected communities of Camden, Picton, Wollondilly and Campbelltown, and almost $50,000 worth of products will also be delivered to St Vincent De Paul and Turbans 4 Australia this week.
Andoo partnered with Good360, as well as local charities and businesses to help identify locals still in need of essentials, including furniture and appliances. These include Lomandra School in west Sydney, St Vincent De Paul in Sydney, Lismore Soup Kitchen and Mullumbimby and District Neighbourhood Centre in the Northern Rivers, and Turbans 4 Australia.
Winning Group head of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, Alice Kuepper said, “While the first major floods impacted the Northern Rivers communities in March this year, flooding has continued to ravage this region, along with other parts of the country and NSW, including west Sydney.
“The turmoil still faced by these communities provides an important reminder for Australians to not lose sight of the immense support that is still needed by the thousands of people who are still recovering from the floods and in need of essentials as they rebuild their homes and lives.
“Care is at the heart of Andoo, so we hope this Christmas donation helps to alleviate the tremendous pressure and strain these locals and communities are still experiencing and provides some hope at a time that is about family, togetherness and the spirit of giving.”
