Amazon is launching its next generation Echo Show 8 in Australia, with pre-orders open now. With edge-to-edge glass and soft curvatures across an 8-inch screen, the new Echo Show 8 is designed for entertainment and practicality.
Ideally suited for the kitchen, living room or home office, with the new Echo Show 8 customers can control smart home devices via the built-in smart home hub, watch or listen to content, make video calls, check compatible cameras, view and update shopping lists, customise a rotating photo display, and more.
Room adaptation technology and spatial audio processing promise optimal sound, while the HD display delivers bright and vibrant video content. Video calls are enhanced with a centred auto-framing 13MP camera, plus an enhanced audio pipeline which minimises background noise.
The new industrial design and upgraded processor means the upgraded Echo Show 8 sees Alexa process common smart home requests 40% faster. The built-in smart home hub includes support for Matter, Zigbee and Thread, without the need for a separate hub. Manage compatible cameras, lights and more using the display or voice commands, or activate routines with movement.
The new Echo Show 8 also features Adaptive Content, a redefined home screen experience, delivering more useful and engaging content and information when near the device. Accessing frequently used content or widgets is made easier via shortcut icons. If enrolled in visual ID, the screen will deliver a personalised view, highlighting things like a recent playlist or additional news articles.
Created with multiple layers of privacy protection, customers have complete transparency and control over the Alexa experience, from the manual microphone/camera off button and built-in camera shutter to the ability to delete voice recordings.
Designed with sustainability in mind, 99% of the device packaging is made of wood fibre-based materials from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.
The Echo Show 8 is available for pre-order now in Glacier White and Charcoal for RRP $249 from Amazon Australia, JB Hi-Fi and other leading retailers. Shipping will begin from 22 August.
