Amazon Australia is now offering free live virtual tours of its fulfilment centres in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Run four days a week, each tour will give Australians a chance to get behind the scenes at all three sites, to see how their online shopping cart gets to their doorstep.

Led by three expert onsite tour guides in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, visitors will get up close and personal with Amazon’s world class technology, meet the people who help pick, pack and ship orders around Australia, and get to see the millions of products which are stored at its fulfilment centres. Visitors can also ask questions and interact live with guides.

Amazon Australia director of operations, Mindy Espidio-Garcia started her Amazon career working in fulfilment centres in the US for more than eight years before moving to Sydney earlier this year to run the Australian operation.

“At Amazon, our promise is all about providing great value and fast delivery for our customers. In order to do that, we’ve hired talented employees from right across the country, and invested in the systems and technology to support them. With online shopping now a part of everyday life, this is the perfect opportunity for customers to join us for an hour to see what happens after they place their order,” she said.

Amazon Sydney robotics fulfilment centre tour guide, Joshua Dawe is looking forward to giving people a sneak peek behind the scenes at Amazon Australia’s biggest site, showing the diverse roles working collaboratively with advanced robotics technology at the site.

“I grew up in Kemps Creek and it’s been exciting to watch this robotics fulfilment centre grow into a thriving community right here in my neighborhood. I can’t wait to show people the heart of our operations as well as the people and technology such as our robotic drives, which help move the inventory around the site,” he said.

Australians can book in their interactive virtual tours via https://amazontours.com/au/virtual. After registering, guests will receive a link that allows them to take the tour using a PC, tablet or smartphone.
