The Country Manager of Amazon has shared insights into the reasons why the company has introduced a B2B service in Australia.
Amazon Business country manager, Lena Zak, told Appliance Retailer there are a few reasons why they have decided to create a B2B division that will also include Business Prime.
“We are excited to be launching Amazon business in Australia for organisations of all sizes – including sole traders, small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) and larger enterprise customers.
“We are here for all types of organisation in the same way that we service traditional retail customers – as no two customers are the same.
“We have more than just office supplies to keep people running and we aim to sell them what they need with fast and free delivery.
Amazon Business offers a wide range of products and has the same features that consumers would associate with the traditional retail Amazon site but with a few extras.
Zak confirmed that the benefits of Business Prime are different to other Amazon subscriptions and do not include access to Prime Video, Prime Music and Prime Reading for example.
“Business Prime is focused on the needs for businesses. Benefits for Amazon Business customers include business-only pricing and quantity discounts on eligible items, spending limits as well as single or multi-user accounts, Business Prime and dedicated customer support.”
“We will be using analytics to deeply understand what Amazon Business customers will be spending their money on and learning about what it is that businesses are looking to purchase and ensure while continuing to support our 14,000 sellers.
“Using Amazon Business reduces the time of having to shop across multiple different stores – such as a stationery and office supplies store, kitchen and pantry store, cleaning and sanitisation store, IT and computer store as well as things like tools and maintenance. You can pretty much get anything from Amazon.”
The service is free to join and customers will receive a 30 per cent discount on their first purchase prior to 30 June.
Businesses can also easily identify and purchase more sustainable products on the platform, thanks to Amazon’s Climate Pledge friendly program.
“We know that 78 per cent of SMBs have had to implement cost-cutting measures over the past three years. As operating costs keep rising, Amazon Business can help take some of that pressure off by offering meaningful savings on everyday goods and supplies, along with the convenience and simplicity of our delivery experience,” Zak said.
