Samsung has bolstered its B2B mobility solutions offering with the addition of the Galaxy XCover Pro smartphone for both field and customer-facing settings across a range of industries, including retail, manufacturing, and logistics.

With a rugged yet stylish design, the Galaxy XCover Pro also features an immersive 6.3-inch Full HD+ Infinity Display, 4,050mAh long-lasting replaceable battery and Samsung Knox security platform, in addition to unique partner-enabled mobility solutions including integration of walkie talkie capability in Microsoft Teams – the first partner solution to leverage push-to-talk.

It is IP68 water and dust resistant, tested to withstand drops of up to 1.5 metres and is MIL-STD 810G certified for protection against severe environmental conditions.

Samsung has removed the physical home button and with two programmable keys, custom actions such as opening the scanner, turning on the flashlight or launching a CRM app can be done with one click. The new voice to text message feature provides real-time dictation and messaging for convenient communication.

The Galaxy XCover Pro also has Samsung POS, mobile-based point of sale solution, approved by Visa’s Tap to Phone pilot program to help sellers stay in touch with consumers and removing the need for a dedicated POS hardware. Customers will be able to make payments by simply tapping their contactless card, phone or watch to the device.

Samsung Electronics Australia head of enterprise and government – mobile division, Danny Mandrides said the Galaxy XCover Pro is a result of the increased investment and commitment Samsung is making to the enterprise and government market.

“Samsung is further extending business ready mobility solutions in 2020 with the launch of Galaxy XCover Pro, a smartphone designed for the demanding conditions of business users who need to operate in a range of tough environments.

“Microsoft and Samsung have a long history of bringing together the best possible hardware and software to help solve customer challenges. The powerful combination of Microsoft Teams and the Galaxy XCover Pro builds on this partnership and will enable workforce transformation with the technology they need to be more collaborative, productive and secure.”

The Galaxy XCover Pro is available through Samsung online, select IT distribution partners and relevant telco partners for RRP $799.
