The Essendon Bombers’ state-of-the-art training and administrative base at Melbourne Airport will be named ‘NEC Hangar’ for at least the next two years with the announcement of a major partnership with NEC Australia.

As well as naming rights sponsor of The Hangar, NEC Australia becomes the official ICT Solutions Partner and official Commercial Partner of ‘The Bombers’.

The multi-season Premium Sponsorship agreement will include match day advertising at Essendon’s Marvel Stadium and MCG home games, as well as development of a ‘living lab’ featuring NEC technology that will give visitors and Essendon fans an immersive experience inside The Hangar.

Essendon CEO Xavier Campbell welcomed NEC Australia to the Essendon family and said the partnership presents an opportunity for the club to strengthen its commitment to innovation in technology. “While also transforming the customer experience for members and supporters and exploring opportunities and technologies to improve team performance across our high performance and data/analytics departments.

NEC has partnership agreements with sporting organisations around the world, including ownership of the NEC Green Rockets in the Japan Rugby Top League, an international partnership with the Washington Wizards in the US (NBA) and a sponsorship agreement with the Los Angeles Angels in the US (MLB).
