Panasonic Australia managing director, Paul Reid has confirmed some changes to the local team following the announcement to withdraw from the Australian television market. However, at this stage, the number of employees and job titles impacted are yet to be disclosed.

“Recent changes to our product portfolio have resulted in some changes to our team in Australia, while we continue to expand in our growth business areas,” he said in a statement provided to Appliance Retailer.

“Panasonic Australia regularly reviews the organisation and makes changes to adapt to an evolving market while always maintaining a strong customer facing team. This is business as usual. Panasonic has made no official announcement of any changes. The current priority for Panasonic is to first work through any changes with our employees, and for that reason we can’t comment further at this stage.”

In a recent interview with Appliance Retailer, Reid shared his optimism for the future of the brand with its air conditioning range, benchtop appliances, Lumix imaging products, personal care products and Technics audio.
