KBIS Las Vegas: Our pick of the crop

The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show was held in Las Vegas last week and it was the biggest show to date since its inception in 1964. Appliance Retailer shares its pick of the crop from some of the key appliance exhibitors.

Bertazzoni

The Bertazzoni Heritage suite of appliances can now be personalised with the Heritage Series Décor Sets of knobs and finials in real gold, copper and black nickel.

Bertazzoni head of style and brand and sixth generation family member, Valentina Bertazzoni said one of the guiding principles for this collection is that today’s homeowner wants to personalise their kitchen with unique design elements.“KBIS was the world premier of our program that allows personalisation with a selection of specially curated finishes, each of which achieves timeless statements for any home,” she said.

LG

LG showcased industry-first appliance features supporting the brand’s vision to make the smart kitchen work harder for homeowners.

“Among the products on display were an artificial intelligence-powered customer service platform, connected apps, voice control, and partnerships with smart-cooking platforms as examples of the technologies that LG is developing for future developments in the home,” LG senior category manager – home appliances, Brad Reed said.

“Highlighted new innovations included the True Sommelier app (available exclusively on the Signature Kitchen wine refrigerators; pictured above) which helps wine aficionados manage their at-home collections. Powered by Wine Ring’s patented machine learning, this is the first smart software that learns preferences and makes wine recommendations, including food and wine pairings, for individuals and groups based on the wines stored in the user’s cellar.

“And with LG ThinQ-enabled smart appliances, connected living becomes more seamless than ever. Using the LG ThinQ smartphone app, LG smart appliances owners can receive alerts and keep track of maintenance schedules for their appliances. Users can also remotely power appliances on and off, adjust oven, freezer, and refrigerator temperatures, and monitor cycle and usage status with the touch of a button. Key features are also voice-enabled with Google Assistant.”

Liebherr

The Liebherr booth featured several signature products, including the Monolith collection which includes a 36-inch refrigerator and 30- and 36-inch freezer, as well as wine and undercounter products. The booth was designed to convey how Liebherr products integrate seamlessly into the modern kitchen with advanced technology, elegant looks and cutting-edge features.

Liebherr America senior marketing manager, Jonathan Barfell said, “At Liebherr, we pride ourselves on redefining cooling and understand the comfort, convenience and inherent luxury of having top-of-the-line refrigeration options throughout the home. At this year’s KBIS, we focused on demonstrating how that innovation can extend beyond the kitchen. Our goal was to create an experience that inspires consumers to imagine the possibilities Liebherr can bring within their homes. The exceptional cooling solutions Liebherr provides are something families can rely on for all stages of life and that will satisfy many different needs.”

Samsung

Samsung highlighted connected products and curated experiences—an ecosystem of intelligent products that make household tasks more convenient with technology such as voice assistant compatibility. This included the Family Hub (pictured below) that allows consumers to order groceries, share videos from their smartphone, view multiple cameras, and even be notified when the laundry is done, as well as new side-by-side refrigerators, French door refrigerators, 4-Door Bespoke refrigerator, Jet stick vacuum cleaner, and AirDresser.

Samsung Electronics America senior vice president and general manager – home appliances, John Herrington said, “We’re proud to lead the home appliance industry by offering innovative products for every type of customer, and for every type of home, whether it’s your first apartment or your dream home.”

Smeg

The Smeg Disney FAB fridge and Smeg Dolce & Gabbana Divina Cucina collection were the key highlights at the Smeg stand.

Disney FAB is available nationally from selected retailers and appliance specialists,” Smeg national marketing manager, Olivia Anderson said.

“Coming to Australia later this year is the Divina Cucina collection, a continuation of Smeg’s collaboration with renowned fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana. We’ll see glorious freestanding cookers and FAB fridges adored with the history, culture, cuisine and beauty of Sicily. It is easy to see why Divina Cucina has been hailed as the epitome of style, art and fashion, and is the latest expression of artistry in our extensive collection.”
