After 19 years with the business.

Epson Australia has promoted its general manager, Craig Heckenburg to managing director of Epson Australia and New Zealand, effective September 2019, with the retirement of Bruno Turcato after 16 years in the role.

Turcato has been with Epson Australia for 30 years, initially as financial controller before being promoted to general manager and in 2003, he became the first non-Japanese managing director of any Epson subsidiary.

He oversaw the move from dot matrix printers and PCs to inkjet printers and projectors. The company now sells over 70% of all projectors in Australia.

Heckenburg has been with Epson for more than 19 years. Under his stewardship, Epson has lifted commercial print revenue by over 450% and printer sales by over 170%. With the support of his team, he also established Epson Australia as the number one brand in high brightness projectors, successfully launched new businesses including Document Solutions, Industrial Label and Sign and Textile.

As managing director, Heckenburg will be responsible for Epson’s entire product portfolio for the ANZ region. He will also head up the leadership team devising and setting the company’s overall strategy, policy, planning and business management goals.

“I would like to congratulate Bruno on his amazing 30 year career at Epson. His leadership and presence will be sorely missed by the entire Epson family and we wish him all the very best in retirement,” Heckenberg said.

“I am looking forward to creating a new era for Epson in the ANZ region. My goal is to make Epson an indispensable company for our customers and society by continuing to raise our standards of excellence in all areas of the business.”
