Replacement appointed.

Amazon Australia has confirmed the departure of country manager, Rocco Braeuniger, who will move to a senior international role within Amazon. He will be replaced by Amazon North America director technical advisor, Matt Furlong (pictured), effective 1 October, 2019.

Furlong has held several roles with Amazon since joining the company in 2012 and prior to this, he worked for Procter & Gamble for over 12 years in management and director roles.

In a statement supplied to Appliance Retailer, an Amazon spokesperson said, “During Braeuniger’s time leading the Australian retail business, Amazon.com.au has grown to more than 125 million products across 29 categories and launched a number of products and services, such as Fulfilment By Amazon, Global Store, Prime, and most recently, Amazon Launchpad, a program that will help Australian startups and entrepreneurs to bring innovative products to local customers.

“In his new role, Furlong will bring invaluable experience from his time in US retail leadership roles and we look forward to him continuing to lead the team in bringing great selection, everyday brilliant value, convenience and fast delivery to customers across Australia.”
