With new 4K OLED TV and 4K LED LCD TVs.

Panasonic has launched its 2019 range of 4K OLED and 4K LED LCD TVs with the next-generation GZ2000 OLED Series, the flagship in the new lineup, with built-in upward-firing details to support Dolby Atmos.

Panasonic has also stepped up the features with a new professional 4K OLED panel and upgraded HCX PRO Intelligent Processor for boosting detail, brightness and colour accuracy.

“Panasonic is offering a good range for retailers, with the GX2000 OLED the first OLED to have Dolby Atmos built-in,” Consumer Electronics Group director, Richard Tassone said at the Sydney launch event. “The new HTB900 and HTB700 series soundbars sport another first, also with Dolby Atmos that provides the whole entertainment solution for consumers.”

The OLED Series, the GZ2000, GZ1500 and GZ1000, are all available in 65-inch screen sizes and also 55-inch in the GZ1000, with a July/August rollout. RRPs start from $3599 up to $8299.

There are five new 4K LED LCD Series, the GX880 and GX850, both powered by the HCX PRO Intelligent Processor and the GX800, GX740 and GX600. The premium model in this set, the 75-inch GX880A will be released in July, at $4999 RRP. The Smart TV platform, My Home Screen 4.0, has been upgraded too across all OLED and LED LCD models from the GX740 Series and above.

Panasonic has expanded its range of soundbars, as well as featuring Dolby Atmos these new models come with DTS:X, Chromecast and 4K and HDR pass-through. The flagship HTB900 is tuned by Technics, designed to match with the OLED TVs, retails for $1349 and released in July. The entry level HTB510 is available now at $549 RRP.

According to Tassone, the company is confident of sales growth from soundbars, “especially with the new additions to our range which we have not had before in the premium space”.

Also complementing the new range and reaffirming the company’s commitment to the Blu-ray market, is the new entry level UB150 4K Ultra HD player with HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos support. RRP is $279. The premium player, the UB9000, has been enhanced with Control 4 for integration with home automation systems.
