Despite the general market environment, Appliances Online and Winning Appliances both continue to achieve strong double digit growth with Winning Group sales up 21% for the financial year to date, according to CEO, John Winning.

“2018 was a great year for us with sales up 19% for the Winning Group,” he said.

“Retail growth was and will continue to be largely flat for the next five years, except for online large appliances, which will grow at a rate of 8.1% annualised over the next five years, the latest IBIS industry report predicts.

“2018 was a year of realisation for most major retailers, that times are getting tougher and that they simply cannot just hold on and wait it out until things get better.

“It will only get tougher and if you haven’t innovated and been willing to change old tactics, then you simply won’t be competitive.

“With the latest consumer sentiment surveys indicating a drop in consumer confidence, Australians are not only watching the dollars they spend, but also who they spend it with.

“Value will become a buzzword for customers who are savvy enough to not only research prices, but are also wanting to find out what else they receive other than just the product itself.”
