Huawei’s latest wearable, the Watch GT, is available as an exclusive gift with the purchase of the Huawei Mate20 Pro smartphone through JB Hi-Fi, Optus, Vodafone, Kogan and Mobileciti.

The new wearable, valued at $399 and not previously available in Australia, provides new tracking and coaching features and addresses one of the most common pain points of wearables, battery life.

“The Watch GT is an ideal outdoor smart watch, integrating Huawei’s latest Artificial Intelligence (AI), including long-life battery and high-performance technology with enriched, practical functions,” Huawei Consumer Business Group director, Larking Huang, said.

It uses an innovative smart power-saving algorithm that switches between performance and efficiency modes, depending on user activity. This allows the smart watch to stay powered for up to two weeks for frequent use mode and is also an efficient smart watch.

The smart watch can simultaneously tap into GPS, Glonass and Galileo satellite positioning systems, and enables tracking for a range of sports, including indoor exercises, outdoor running, mountain climbing, cycling and open water swimming. The watch also supports fitness coaching features. By analysing the heart rate of users it lets users exercise safely and healthily while the TruSeen 3.0 heart rate monitoring technology tracks active and resting heart rate.

In sport mode, the watch can be set up to notify users to adjust the intensity of their workout based on a pre-set target heart rate interval. In rest mode, it automatically monitors and records the resting heart rate using invisible lights to monitor the user’s heart rate during sleep.

JB Hi-Fi is selling Mate20 Pro for $1399, a saving of $200, as part of the promotional offer until February 28, 2019. The watch is not available for separate purchase.
