To noise-cancelling headphones.

Sony’s WH-1000XM3 noise-cancelling wireless headphones will soon receive Amazon Alexa support for a hands-free, voice-controlled experience. Amazon Alexa will also be available on the Sony WH-1000XM2 and WI-1000X wireless noise cancelling in-ear headphones.

Users simply tap the button and ask Alexa to play music, change tracks, control smart home devices, search for information and more.

Sony ANZ deputy general manager of consumer sales and marketing, Abel Makhraz said, “Sony is committed to introducing exciting innovations for its customers which greatly enhance the user experience. Voice control changes the way we interact with products and the addition of Alexa support to our premium headphone range will offer further flexibility and accessibility.”

Delivered via Sony’s Headphones Connect app (version 4.1) and firmware update, Sony customers can access the update and use their Alexa voice assistant by the end of January 2019.
