Cyber Monday was once again the single biggest shopping day in the history of Amazon with more products ordered worldwide than any other day. Black Friday also broke records for the online retailer this year.

Amazon customers worldwide ordered more than 18 million toys and more than 13 million fashion items on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, combined.

The best-selling products on Amazon.com.au on Black Friday and Cyber Monday included the Echo Dot, Nintendo Switch, and Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) wireless Bluetooth headphones.

Amazon CEO worldwide consumer, Jeff Wilke said, “Black Friday and Cyber Monday continue to break records on Amazon year over year, which tells us that customers love shopping for deals to kick off the holiday shopping season.

“With curated gift guides, convenient shopping experiences, incredible product selection, and free shipping on millions of items, Amazon offers customers tremendous value – sure to deliver smiles all season long.”

The latest data from Adobe has shown that Cyber Monday sales hit $7.9 billion, a 19.7% increase year-over-year (YoY), making it the largest online shopping day of all time in the US.

In comparison, Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday brought in $3.7 billion (28% growth YoY) and $6.2 billion (23.6% growth YoY) in revenue, respectively.

Adobe head of digital transformation, Scott Rigby said, “The adoption of Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Australia means many local brands are now seeing November as their biggest month for sales throughout the year.

“Australia can use the US data as a barometer for trends, where we saw a record 50% increase year-over-year for Click & Collect. This reinforces the importance for businesses to have the ability to orchestrate campaigns across online and offline retail experiences.”
