With world-first technologies.

Huawei Technologies has taken the wraps off its Mate20 Series smartphones – the Huawei Mate20 and Mate20 Pro – at an exclusive launch event at ExCeL London. Powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, the Mate20 Series incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) advances combined with world-first technologies.

The flagship Mate20 Pro features the world’s most advanced dual AI processor, the world’s fastest Wi-Fi connectivity on a smartphone and the world’s most precise GPS system thanks to a dual GPS antenna.

It also sports the largest capacity battery in its class (4200mAh) and the world’s first reverse wireless charging, enabled in settings, providing users with the ability to charge other compatible wireless charging devices that support Qi wireless charging.

The new generation Leica Triple Camera now incorporates a 16mm equivalent Leica ultra-wide angle lens to capture wider perspectives. On the Huawei Mate20 Pro, a combination of a 40MP main camera, 20MP ultra wide-angle camera and 8MP telephoto camera supports a range of focal lengths, while the 3x optical zoom allows users to get closer to the action.

Face Unlock technology lets users unlock the smartphone through facial recognition. The rear fingerprint sensor on the Huawei Mate20 lets users unlock the phone by touch, while the fingerprint sensor is built into the front glass display on the Huawei Mate20 Pro, unlocking the phone with a gentle tap on the screen.

Huawei Australia Consumer Business Group managing director, Larking Huang said, “Our mantra has always been to create products with innovations that enrich the lives of our users and the new Huawei Mate 20 Series is a true reflection of our commitment.

“These devices are the ‘mate’ of our consumers, accompanying and empowering them to enjoy a richer, more fulfilled experience. It also ushers in a higher level of intelligence, unparalleled battery life and powerful camera performance.”
