Epson has released new EcoTank Mono printers, four ultra-efficient WorkForce Pro business inkjet printers and a FastFoto Wi-Fi photo scanner at a packed media launch in Sydney. Epson also unveiled T-Series large format wireless technical printers, next-generation Moverio augmented reality smart glasses and the LightScene laser accent lighting projector.

The Mono EcoTank printers comprising two models, the ET-M1100 (RRP: $399) and the ET-M1120 (RRP:$349), feature Epson inkjet print head technology that prints 6,000 pages in black for less than half a cent per page and includes 5,000 pages worth of ink in the box.

What Mono EcoTank does is meet the needs of a sizeable section of the market that includes individuals, families, small businesses and home offices wanting to print large volumes in black and white at an incredibly low cost per page.”

The ET-M1120 supports the latest wireless standard, 802.11b/g/n, it also includes Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and iPrint which means no router is required for greater coverage and faster speeds as it can print from anywhere in the home and be shared  with multiple PCs. With the EcoTank ET-M1120 users can also easily print from their tablet or smartphone using Epson Connect that supports Android4.1 and later, iPad and iPhone, Chromebook, Fire-OS, Mac, and Windows devices, with minimal setup required.

Epson has also expanded its business printing portfolio with four new WorkForce Pro printers bringing its signature inkjet technology, with low environmental impact, low intervention and high productivity, to workgroups wanting A4 mono and colour print capability. Two A4 mono devices, the multi-function WF-M5799 and single-function WF-M5299, and two A4 colour devices, the WF-C579R and WF-C529R, deliver fast, reliable and high-yield A4 business printing.

The multi-function WF-M5799 and single-function WF-M5299 printers meet the demands of businesses where a robust mono printing solution is required, delivering an ink yield of up to 40,000 pages, said to be the highest in the segment. Its no-heat and no-warm-up printing process also supports extensive media flexibility that includes labels and envelopes. The multi-function WF-C579R and single-function WF-C529R colour printers offer ink yields of up to 50,000 pages for black, and 20,000 pages for each of the colours, also said to be amongst the highest in the segment.

Another new product, FastFoto, claimed to be the world’s fastest Wi-Fi photo scanner, is a versatile solution for scanning, restoring, organising and sharing photos using the latest digital technology. The FF-680W (RRP: $799) can scan thousands of photos, as fast as one photo per second at 300 dpi3 at up to 36 photos per batch.

This includes postcards, panoramic photos up to 36-inches and Polaroid photos as well as photo restoration, editing and smart file organisation tools. Scanner software makes it simple to share images to cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive4.

Users can easily scan, organise, email and store contracts, receipts, documents and files, edit documents and save time with automatic file naming using productivity tools such as the built-in Nuance OmniPage, Optical Character Recognition which enables users to create searchable PDFs, plus editable Word and Excel files.

The new T-Series large format wireless technical printers SureColor T3160 and T5160 offer speed, precision and reliability in ultra-sleek, compact design and are available as desktop or floor-standing models. RRPs start from $1,495.

The next-generation Moverio BT-35E (RRP: $1,199) smart glasses with transparent Si-OLED display offer more flexibility for users connecting to an existing device. An interface unit, with HDMI and USB Type-C ports, easily connect to output devices and seamlessly blend digital content into the real world.

Expanded applications include enterprise drone piloting and visitor experience in museums and galleries where ‘wearable’ information is the best way to communicate facts.

Finally, the laser accent lighting projector, the LightScene EV-100 is ideal for retail, galleries and museums with a low visual noise design that works as a projector or spotlight.
