With next-generation technology.

Sony has confirmed the launch of a new Master TV Series that claims to offer the company’s highest picture quality to date thanks to a next generation X1 Ultimate Picture Processor. The Master Series will comprise of the Z9F and A9F and will be available from October with pricing to be confirmed closer to launch.

The X1 Ultimate processor can intelligently detect and analyse each object in the picture through Sony’s new object-based Super Resolution for improved accuracy and detail. The object-based HDR remaster has been updated and now allows each object to be remastered individually for better depth, accurate texture and a more realistic picture.

The Z9F and A9F will also introduce a new Netflix Calibrated Mode to mirror the same picture quality as a studio master monitor for television. This is also made possible with industry-leading display calibration software from Portrait Displays, CalMAN, which is widely used by professionals to ensure quality control of requirements by content creators in broadcast, production, and post-production.

The flagship A9F TV features Sony’s original panel controller for OLED, Pixel Contrast Booster, that maximises the dynamic range by widening the area of colour reproduction at high brightness. Pictures are enhanced with extra detail and texture. Superior picture quality is supplemented by premium sound quality from the new Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology.

Acoustic Surface was first introduced in 2017 on the A1 series, followed by the A8F this year. The improved Acoustic Surface Audio+ has an additional actuator in the centre of the screen and an extra subwoofer channel, totalling to a 3.2 channel sound system. TV Centre Speaker Mode allows the Acoustic Surface Audio+ to be used as the centre speaker of a home theatre system.

The Z9F sports a new X-Wide Angle to ensure the picture retains its quality regardless of viewing angle, together with X-Motion Clarity, which minimises motion blur.

Using Android TV Hands-free Voice Search function, the A9F and Z9F have built-in microphones that allow users to speak to the TV to find what they want, or ask it to play TV shows, movies, and more.
