Smeg is celebrating its 70th year of heritage, passion and innovation with a series of glittering events at Sydney’s Carriageworks multi-arts centre this week.

Three nights are being devoted to celebrating the brand’s achievements and its relationships and friendships with retailers, media, designers and staff.

“Smeg’s stellar career in the global kitchen appliance market is littered with milestones and memorable moments starting from the very inception of this Italian family business and its launch, in 1956, of the world’s first programmable cooker – the Elisabeth,” managing director, Jim Kalotheos said.

“Other world-firsts and outstanding achievements highlighted at the events are its collaboration with some of the world’s leading architects and designers to offer unrivalled design choice in both form and colour.

“Guests will be treated to the unveiling of some truly revolutionary bold new design and innovative technology to mark what has been an incredible 70 years of technology with style,” he said.
