Decorated with Dolce & Gabbana artwork.

The Sicily is my Love collection of small appliances, the latest collaboration between Smeg and Dolce & Gabbana, will arrive in Australia in spring. The collection features Smeg small appliances hand decorated with Dolce & Gabbana Sicilian artwork.

It celebrates the homeland of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana while encapsulating good food and original, innovative design. Each piece is adorned with vibrant artwork that includes golden lemons, prickly pears, red cherries, vibrant florals and legendary landmarks.

Smeg national manager for small appliances, Arthur Banbas says the influence of fashion and design on consumers’ lifestyles is driving the small appliance category at a level never seen before.

“Consumers are demanding a much higher level of sophistication where colour and design are key – and Smeg’s launch of its Dolce & Gabbana small appliances collection is a perfect example of this,” he said.

The 1.7 litre capacity kettle (RRP $799) features a soft opening lid, limescale filter and 360 degree swivel base while the two-slice toaster (RRP $799) has six browning levels, reheat, defrost and bagel functions plus automatic centring racks.

The 800 watt blender (RRP $1,099) with 1.5 litre Tritan jug has a smooth start function and four speeds plus three pre-set programs – smoothie, ice crush and pulse.

The citrus juicer (RRP $799) has a 70 watt motor that automatically activates as soon as the half-piece of citrus is pressed to its reamer. There is also a strainer, drip-free spout and impact-resistant Tritan juicing bowl.
