Samsung Electronics Australia will roll out two additions to its soundbar range – the N950 and N850 – from mid-August. Engineered at Samsung’s LA-based Audio Lab, the range delivers 7.1.4 and 5.1.2 cinematic sound respectively from a simple soundbar solution.

Samsung Electronics Australia head of audio visual, Hass Mahdi said, “Australians are increasingly looking to soundbars to complete their home entertainment set-up and we are seeing greater demand for products that deliver a rich and immersive audio to support the TV viewing experience.

“The N950 and N850 are defining products for Samsung and a testament to our deep commitment to deliver products that break new ground for our offering and give Australians an incredible experience.”

The N950 and N850 range combines multiple built-in speakers – 17 and 13 speakers respectively – supported by dedicated amplifiers, including upward and side-firing speakers which are placed on each end of the product, wireless rear speakers and wide range tweeter.

It also supports both of the latest surround sound formats Dolby ATMOS and DTS:X, as well as 4K pass-through and 32 bit sound up-scaling.

Out of the box installation is designed to be simple and intuitive for wired or wireless connections. The soundbars can also be controlled from Samsung TV’s One Remote. Users can access the N950 and N850 via Samsung’s SmartThings app on their compatible smartphone and Amazon Alexa.

The N950 soundbar, including subwoofer and rear speakers will have an RRP of $1,999 and the N850 soundbar, including subwoofer will carry an RRP of $1,499.
