And brand ambassador.

Beko was host to more than 80 retail partners and stakeholders to announce its new ‘Eat Like A Pro’ campaign at an exclusive Sydney event. The campaign, which will run for a minimum of two years, will be championed by Rugby Sevens star and Olympic gold medallist, Ellia Green, as the new brand ambassador for Australia and New Zealand.

The Eat Like A Pro initiative aims to help parents feed their children healthy food, more often with Beko refrigerators and cooking appliances. Research from the World Health Organisation has shown that by 2025, there will be over 70 million children suffering from obesity around the world.

The launch showcased a custom-built wall of 94 litre capacity ovens and gourmet kitchen with freestanding 130 litre capacity oven and refrigerators featuring Active Fresh Blue Light technology, which protects vitamin C and provides up to 30% better preservation for fruit and vegetables.

Beko refrigerators also feature NeoFrost Dual Cooling for faster cooling, no odour mixing and longer freshness thanks to two separate cooling systems and EverFresh+ will keep fruits and vegetables fresh for up to 30 days.

The recently launched Beko ovens offer side venting technology for multi-level even cooking. They also feature a telescopic pull-out shelf system, soft close and open door and LED screen. Select models have pyrolytic cleaning functionality and steam assist cooking.

Beko managing director, John Brown addressed attendees. “One of the key reasons I joined Beko was because we still design, engineer and manufacture the vast majority of the products we sell. But having been in the electrical industry for over 20 years, I understand that product alone does not guarantee a sale.

“Therefore, we have developed a new cooking catalogue and appointed a cooking specialist sales representative with a focus on in-store training to support our retail partners in the growth of our cooking range.

“Our new global brand campaign – Eat Like A Pro – aims to address a very serious issue in conjunction with our partnership with FC Barcelona – and there is no doubt that Messi and his team are global heroes to young children around the world. Beko ANZ will be taking the campaign one step further by introducing local sporting heroes. We want this to go far beyond just an advertising campaign and we are very excited to have Ellia on board.

Commenting on her partnership with Beko, Ellia Green said, “I understand the importance of ‘eating like a pro’ as a professional athlete. It is something I aim to achieve every day. Preparation is everything and the time it takes to prepare meals is huge.

“I truly believe that as adults and as a professional athlete, we play a significant role in being the best example we can be, for youth around the world. Beko appliances make it simple to create healthy meals and I am really excited to be on board with the new campaign.”
