Announces new smartphone line-up.

Alcatel has confirmed that its four new devices in the 1 Series and 3 Series, first previewed at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, will be available in Australia in August. The smartphones, all priced under $200, offer flagship-style features and new premium design.

Three devices within the 1 Series to launch are the Alcatel 1X ($129) and 1C ($89), and the 1 ($99), while the Alcatel 3V ($199) is part of the Alcatel 3 Series.

Alcatel is the first brand to deliver a 18:9 display experience across each series in its portfolio at all price points, using custom-built displays leveraging parent company TCL television technology. Other new features include Face Key, a facial recognition technology, and enhanced camera options with increased control.

Alcatel Mobile regional managing director and vice president for South East Asia and Pacific, Sam Skontos said, “There continues to be a need and strong demand for compelling sub-$200 alternatives, with Aussies craving affordable yet well-made, attractive options. We work closely with our parent company TCL to ensure we leverage its manufacturing capabilities. This means we can bring immersive entertainment experiences and attractive devices through 18:9 displays, improved battery life and enhanced camera quality, all at an affordable price.”

Alcatel 1 Series

With all models sub-$130, the 1 Series is Alcatel’s most affordable line-up. The Alcatel 1X and 1C pack a 5.3-inch 18:9 display, while the Alcatel 1 (pictured above) offers a 5-inch 18:9 display. All devices feature FullView 18:9 displays, Social Mode for the camera, along with a premium finish.

The Alcatel 1 Series also features improved connectivity, battery life, enhanced camera quality and more security options. Alcatel 1X and 1 run on Android Go, which features a built-in data manager to stay in control of data usage and spend, as well as Google Play Protect which keeps the device secure. The Alcatel 1C offers a fingerprint scanner.

Alcatel 3 Series

The Alcatel 3 Series provides the FullView 18:9 display, fingerprint sensors and Face Key. The 3 series is designed with curved lines, sleek 2.5D contoured edge glass, and curved backs.

In Australia, this series will include the Alcatel 3V (pictured above), which packs a 6-inch 2K screen as well as a dual rear camera. The 3V uses a 12MP camera paired with a 2MP secondary depth camera with LED flash, providing real-time bokeh and the ability to change the area of focus on any shot. Running on Android O (8.0), the 3V also features a 3,000mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner for added security.
