Sharp Corporation of Australia has appointed Daniel Gard (pictured) to national sales and marketing manager – B2B, replacing Greg Wallis who retired in April. Gard will be responsible for directing the strategic growth and profitability of Sharp’s Business Solutions Group (B2B) Office and Visual Solutions.

He joined Sharp in 2016 as B2B business manager, and was later promoted to head of marketing and product strategy B2B. Gard has spent over 30 years in the industry, holding a number of marketing and sales roles at NEC, Sony, HP, Konica Minolta, Lexmark, Ricoh and Fuji Xerox.

“Gard has greatly contributed to Sharps many accomplishments over the past couple of years,” Sharp Australia managing director, Hitoshi Kagawa said. “In the years prior to Gard joining Sharp, there was a decline in the business but since he joined the B2B Group, there has been year-on-year growth. Sharp’s market share in the B2B segment is now showing a consistent increase and the brand is in a strong position for continual growth,” he said.

“I’m very excited to take on this new position at Sharp within the Business Solutions Group,” Gard said. “As Sharp continues to be recognised for its market leading, innovative products and solutions, I look forward to leading and working with the Business Solutions Group to enhance the brand in the market while developing sales and executing growth within the industry. I want to thank Greg for his service at Sharp. His extensive experience, leadership and strategic vision was recognised by all and led Sharp’s business to great success.”
