Connects to Uber, Nespresso and Ring Doorbell.

Samsung Electronics has launched its latest Family Hub refrigerator complete with three new app partnerships that enables consumers to manage and control more aspects of their lives from the kitchen.

The new app partners, Uber, Nespresso and Ring Doorbell, continue Samsung’s commitment to provide Australians with connected experiences designed to support the lifestyles of busy households.

Speaking at the media launch, Samsung Electronics Australia, senior director home appliances, Jeremy Senior said Australians are starting to realise the benefits that integrated smart technologies can make to their lives. “The Family Hub is a great example of just how innovations in connected products can help make life easier,” he said. “By expanding our stable of connected apps on the Family Hub we are building on our commitment to offer Australians new levels of convenience, support, and easy functionality to make busy lives simpler.”

Nespresso, Uber and Ring join Woolworths and Spotify in Family Hub’s stable of apps that enable users to perform a range tasks from the connected refrigerator’s touch screen. This includes placing an order for more Nespresso coffee capsules, to booking an Uber ride to an important event, or using the Ring Doorbell Pro and Elite to see who is at the front door.

The Family Hub features a 21.5-inch LED touch-screen which serves as the refrigerator’s digital command center and also acts as an interactive digital bulletin board. Compatible with the SmartThings app, the screen enables seamless connection to other compatible Samsung devices including the QuickDrive washing machine, the 2018 TV range, and Powerbot robot vacuum. Voice activated control allows users to conveniently add items to a shopping list, play music through compatible music apps, set cooking timers and search the internet, with a quick voice command.
