For IFA 2018.

Miele co-owner Reinhard Zinkann has revealed the new products to be unveiled at the IFA Berlin exhibition in September this year.

Speaking with Appliance Retailer at the recent IFA Press Conference in Rome, Dr Zinkann said the stand at IFA 2018 will be themed ‘Creating New Dimensions’.

“We will launch new dishwashing and cooking products that provide maximum convenience and top class results, but that is not everything,” he said cryptically.

“You can expect stunning new products, and you can expect ideas that you would not expect and I am pretty positive you will like them. These products will not only deliver on technology, energy consumption and design, it will include a lot more and I look forward to showing this to our Australian retailers. As a family owned and run company which turns 120 years next year we are one of the most traditional domestic appliance brands in the world.

“In the 2017-18 financial year it is likely we will exceed €4 billion turnover and the 20,000 employee mark is within our sights. And then there is IFA where we have exhibited our appliances in its current form since 2008, so it will be our 10th IFA. We believe that IFA is the most important trade show in the world and the most important for us to attend. It is the number one stage for product premieres, with 3000 square metres and 250 sales and demonstration staff permanently on the booth.”

He said Miele achieves almost half of its turnover in the kitchen and the trend continues. “More recently in our markets outside Europe, built-in appliances contribute to an even greater share of our business as an elegant high-end kitchen is an important status symbol.”
