In stainless and colours.

Smeg has confirmed that its Portofino freestanding cookers have seen immediate success since launch on March 1. Appliance Retailer understands that sales of the premium cooking range have been equally distributed across both stainless steel and colour models.

Smeg Australia managing director, Jim Kalotheos (pictured) said, “Feedback from the trade has been outstanding. Positive affirmation of the colour choices has been widespread, and overwhelmingly, the comments have centred on the technology behind the design.”

The Dynamic Airflow triple fan, weight of the soft close door and six minute heat up time (to 200 degrees Celsius) of the 126 litre Thermoseal oven have been the most well-received features, he said.

“Portofino illustrates one of the longest held beliefs of Smeg – that the consumer wants genuine design choice. It’s not always about volume for us – it’s about bringing family together. Being a family-owned company we have the ability to invest in beauty and design,” he added.

The Smeg Portofino freestanding cooker is available in both dual-fuel and induction models in eight colours. There is also a Portofino 90cm rangehood.
