Samsung confirms availability, pricing for 2018 TV line-up

At local launch event.

After announcing its 2018 TV range at an exclusive launch in New York, Samsung Electronics Australia has unveiled the range at a Sydney media event. The line-up introduces a number of new innovations, including Direct Full Array technology, Ambient Mode, One Clear Connection and the integration of SmartThings.

The range, which incorporates QLED, premium UHD, and UHD models, includes seven models that are 75 inches and above, in response to consumer demand for larger screens.

Specific to the Q9F and Q8F QLED TVs, Direct Full Array technology will provide exceptionally deep contrast, outstanding blacks and reduced screen reflection. For when the TV is not in use, Ambient Mode enables the display to create a chameleon-like effect and seamlessly blend with its surroundings, including the colour and texture of the wall. The TV will also display information such as weather, time and date, as well as photos.

Samsung QLED Q9F 

And in a Samsung first, the 2018 QLED TV range introduces a One Clear Connection cable, which reduces cable clutter by transmitting both a data signal and power over a single thin, clear cable to the One Connect Box. This also removes the need to position the TV where the power and aerial connections are located.

The Samsung QLED and Premium UHD TVs are also compatible with HDR10+ content (available on Amazon Prime). With HDR10+ content, HDR10+ optimises colour and contrast levels for each individual scene.

Samsung has also launched SmartThings for consumers to control compatible Samsung smart devices from the TV.

The Samsung 2018 TV range will be available through a variety of retail outlets nationally from April 23, 2018.
