CES 2018: Sony to launch another OLED TV

Adds to 4K HDR range.

Sony is expanding its 4K HDR TV series with the A8F OLED and X9000F LCD series, soon after launching the Bravia OLED A1 in 2017.

The new A8F series, available in 65” and 55″ inherits Sony’s 4K HDR picture processor-X1TM Extreme and Acoustic Surface technology for high quality sound straight from the screen.

In response to demand for a wider variety of large screen premium 4K HDR TVs, the new X9000F series, equipped with the X1 Extreme processor, will be available in 75’’, 65’’ and 55’’.

A new technology, X-Motion ClarityTM, keeps fast action images clear and smooth, and utilises Sony’s proprietary direct LED local dimming and backlight boosting algorithm to control the on screen luminance and optimise its duration. The X9000F series’ can be complemented by Sony’s new Dolby AtmosTM compatible Soundbar, the HT-X9000F.

Both the A8F and the X9000F series will support Dolby VisionTM, the HDR format from Dolby Laboratories.

Pricing and availability for the Australian market is yet to be confirmed.
