Robert Soek retires

At industry event.

Robert Soek (pictured), one of the original founders of online retailer Stan Cash has retired.  Known as the original Tin Shed Cowboy, Soek told AR he was “riding into the sunrise, not the sunset”.  Soek started the business in 1978 selling electrical appliances and homewares at “everyday low prices”.  Stan Cash will now be run by George and Mark Caval who became partners with Soek in 2013.

Soek announced his retirement at the Victorian Electrical Appliances Distributors Association (VEADA) annual reunion dinner held at L’Osteria Ristorante in North Fitzroy.

Among the 45 plus guests were Stan Poppleton, Sean Beer and David Earl from Schweigen, Phil Scoular from Teco, Wendy Ross from BVS and former Good Guys, Simon Burgess and Robert Finch.
