Two roles made redundant.

The Good Guys announced a review of the functions and structure of its merchandise buying team to ensure greater agility and accountability across the team moving forward. This subsequently resulted in the redundancy of two senior roles, group general manager and business manager (household appliances), and the creation of a new role, general manager (household appliances).

A statement from The Good Guys provided to Appliance Retailer said, “As a result of these changes, Wayne Jennings (pictured) and Denis Harvey have both left The Good Guys. Wayne and Denis were both instrumental members of The Good Guys team for many years and we thank them for the significant contribution they have made to the business.

“Biag Capasso, previously general manager (CE/TZ), has been appointed to the role of general manager (home appliances), and Greg Wilson, previously buyer for televisions and accessories, has been appointed to the role of general manager (CE/TZ).

“As a sales focused retailer, it’s essential we are agile and relevant to our customers in this highly competitive environment, in order to deliver to our strategy.”

Denis Harvey commented on his departure with the following post on LinkedIn:

“After 14 years and 7 months I have elected to move on from The Good Guys. What an exciting, frustrating, fulfilling, satisfying and ultimately career changing experience I have had over this time. Looking forward to the future and what it will bring. I have worked with some simply inspirational people in the Support Centre, along with many astute and savvy Good Guys who have helped shape and define me over this journey so thank you to so many people, but it is time to move on and explore new opportunities. The future is truly exciting.”
