With latest FoodSaver model.

Sunbeam continues to address the rapid rise in food waste that has now reached $20 billion or approximately $3,800 per household annually in Australia, with its next generation FoodSaver. The FoodSaver Fresh is a vacuum seal system that enables food to be kept fresh for up to two times longer than zip seal bags, foil, cling film and containers, according to internal tests.

Sunbeam hosted an intimate launch event with a small group of media at the Harvey Norman Domayne Alexandria store in Sydney on Friday.

Sunbeam senior home economist and senior training manager, Jill Cooney, who has over 38 years of experience in the food industry, introduced the FoodSaver Fresh. She demonstrated how simple it is to use and highlighted the variety of foods that can be stored in the specially designed vacuum containers and vacuum zipper bags, from fresh fruit and deli meats to breads and crackers.

Sunbeam category manager for FoodSaver, Nicole Norton said, “Today we are here for the launch of our new product – the FoodSaver Fresh. FoodSaver keeps food fresher for longer via a vacuum seal system that removes the air and seals food air tight to prevent food from spoiling. There are a number of benefits including waste, with 1 in 5 Australian shopping bags being thrown out; time, as it means fewer trips to the grocery store, preparing meals ahead and bulk buying groceries.”

Measuring just 14cm wide and 28cm in height, the FoodSaver Fresh has a similar footprint to a kettle so has been designed to fit on the benchtop for everyday use. The FoodSaver Fresh is available online and leading retail outlets for an RRP of $129.
