Samsung Electronics Australia has added to its Galaxy tablet portfolio with the second generation Galaxy Tab A 8.0, featuring a refined look and feel with a sleek, metal body and smooth rounded edges. It also offers long-lasting battery and increased onboard memory with expandable storage.
Samsung Electronics Australia director of IT and mobile, Garry McGregor said, “At Samsung, we want Australians to have choice when it comes to the technology they use, and ensure it meets their unique needs. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is designed for the whole family. It’s the tablet that’s easy to use whether you’re out and about or curled up on the couch, with long-lasting battery life to get everyone through the day.”
Samsung Galaxy Tab A Wi-Fi model
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is equipped with an immersive display for watching TV shows, playing games or browsing the web even under bright sunlight. It also has an optional blue light filter to balance the brightness and help reduce eye strain, ideal for night time and in dim lighting settings.
The long-lasting battery (5,000mAh) allows users to watch movies, games, emails and more from a single charge that lasts up to 14 hours.
The new Home Mode, which can be configured to show up to three displays, provides a quick glance at information like the time, family calendar, weather or photos even while the device is charging. Up to eight family members can have their own login with Multi User Mode to securely save favourite settings and apps. With Parental Controls, parents can set limits on usage and customise available content. Also, users can easily view their favourite apps and content on personalised Bixby Home screens.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 4G model
It also boasts an enhanced 5MP F2.2 front and 8MP F1.9 rear cameras, and new flash for clearer and brighter photos.
Wi-Fi and 4G models, RRP $329 and $479 respectively, are now available in black from Samsung-branded retail stores, the Samsung online store, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Officeworks and Bing Lee. The black 4G model is currently available from Vodafone amd Optus. Telstra is due to launch black and silver 4G models from 26 December 2017.
