LG, Breville and Dyson among winners.

The most popular reviewed home appliances and electronics have been revealed in Australia’s biggest consumer opinion awards. Consumer opinion site, www.productreview.com.au has announced products that have won the 2017 awards. LG led the field winning four awards, Bosch, Breville, De’Longhi and Apple each picked up two awards.

The ‘Best French Door Refrigerator’ award went to Mitsubishi for its MR-EX562 and 655 models while Hisense won the ‘Best Side by Side Refrigerator’ with the HR6SBSFF610SW model. Westinghouse was placed on top in the ‘Best Wall Oven’ category for its WVG615S and W models.

ProductReview.com.au spokesperson Chris Perrine said the Mitsubishi fridge size, small footprint, reliability and long warranty were big drawcards for consumers, while the price point of the Hisense fridge places it ahead of the pack. “Westinghouse wall ovens heat up quickly, have an even cooking temperature and large capacity.”

When it came to vacuum cleaners Dyson won in the stick category with the Dyson V8; Bissell won for its Crosswave Professional Multi-Surface 1713F upright; Miele took top spot in barrels with its Complete C3 Powerline and Hoover won the handheld category with the ZB1516.

“Word of mouth has always been effective in helping people make informed purchase decision and more Australians are seeking reviews as their research of choice when it comes to buying something new,” Perrine said.

The online platform’s data team analysed more than 110,000 reviews posted in the last 12 months to decide the winners.
