To cater various cup sizes.

Nespresso has launched an entirely new extraction system for its latest coffee machine range, the Vertuo, enabling users to enjoy a larger variety of coffee cup sizes, including Alto (414ml), Mug (230ml), Gran Lungo (150ml) and Espresso (40ml).

The range responds to internal research which found that 47% of Australian coffee drinkers prefer to drink coffee in mugs 230mL or larger and nearly 90% of Australians consume their coffee with milk.

The Vertuo system removes the need for an additional milk frothing device as it adds milk to the mug before extracting coffee over the top. Its unique Centrifusion™ technology rotates the capsule up to 7000 RPM to enable extraction lengths from espresso to large mug. This technology, combined with a selection of 20 new coffees, means coffee lovers can now brew their ideal cup at the touch of a button.

Nespresso Australia and Oceania general manager, Loïc Réthoré said, “By introducing Vertuo in Australia, we are expanding at home coffee options for Australian coffee lovers and delivering a range of large cup options without compromising on the taste or quality that Nespresso is known for. We feel that Vertuo really delivers on the consumer need for coffee machines to be able to produce the full range of coffee sizes here in Australia.”

Barcode reading technology reads cup size, temperature, rotational speed, flow rate and time the water is in contact with the coffee to allow for precise extraction. Other features include 20 second pre-heating time with a mug of coffee extracted in less than 70 seconds, one button operation, an adjustable cup platform and automatic off mode after 9 minutes of non-use.

The new Nespresso Vertuo and VertuoPlus machines are now available at Nespresso Boutiques, online at www.nespresso.com/vertuo and through the Nespresso Club for an RRP of $299.
