Internal replacement announced.

Dyson Group has announced the promotion of Jim Rowan from the positon of chief operating officer to chief executive officer following the departure of Max Conze after six years with the company.

A statement supplied to Appliance Retailer read, “Rowan has enjoyed a distinguished career both at Dyson and in other major technology businesses including Research In Motion. He has excelled as COO and brings to the leadership role his huge experience of Dyson’s global operations and technology.”

Dyson Group chairman and chief engineer, Sir James Dyson said, “I would like to thank Max Conze for his great contribution to Dyson. We wish him well in his future ventures. Jim Rowan can now take over the reins in a smooth transition enabling us to take full advantage of his operational and technological skills as the company transitions to an exciting new phase in its development.”

Commenting on his appointment, Rowan said, “Dyson is entering a very exciting period with the development of an electric vehicle and new battery technology. Coming from inside the business, I look forward to the challenge of continuing to develop great products which solve real problems for our customers and to the prospect of leading such a talented and unique group of individuals.”
