Kogan and Beserk have taken out top honours at the 2017 Star Track Online Retail Industry Awards (ORIAs), held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney. Online electronics, homewares and appliance retailer, Kogan, won the People’s Choice Award, while alternative store, Beserk, took out the People’s Choice Award for small retailers.
Star Track CEO Bob Black said more Australians were buying online and mainly from local retailers, with sales increasing 11.5% in the past year. This year was the biggest ever for the awards event with 50% more votes than previous years, he said, “testament to Australia’s enthusiasm for online shopping and the quality of brands in the market”. He added that Australian retailers continued to offer world class experiences, which was crucial to their success in competing against global retailers.
Kogan founder and CEO, Ruslan Kogan, said “as a consumer brand there is not better vote than the vote of our customers”.
