Due to fire risk.

The rechargeable battery pack for the Panasonic FZ-G1 tablet computer has been recalled due to overheating, which may ignite and pose a fire risk to users. The battery pack was distributed through Multimedia Technology and Sektor Distribution between 1 March, 2013 and 28 February, 2017.

Panasonic provided the following statement to Appliance Retailer in relation to the recall.

“Panasonic works very closely with its business customers, and the Toughbook division has proactively notified its distributors and other key business stakeholders regarding the affected units and the actions to be taken.

“We encourage any customers who still require further information to contact Panasonic on 1800 700 006 (Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm AEST), by emailing panasonicrecall@salmat.com.au or going to www.panasonic.com.au.”

Consumers are advised to remove the battery pack and use with the unit plugged into a power source.
