For prestigious retail award.

The CEO Magazine is looking for people who are able to demonstrate excellence within their role within the retail industry (bricks-and-mortar retailers, and/or online merchants) for its 2016  Retail Executive of the Year Award. The consumer electronics industry appears to be in with a good chance as previous winners include The Good Guys CEO Michael Ford; Winning Group CEO, John Winning and Scott Meneilly CEO of Retail Zoo.

However, the gongs are not restricted to the bigwigs with the job-specific  Awards such as Sales Executive of the Year acknowledging outstanding individuals in the retail Industry and recognising their hard work and achievements over the past 12 months.

The Executive of the Year Awards, now is in its fifth year and, according to the organisers,  is one of the most important and prestigious annual events on the business calendar. The Awards themselves do not focus on a company’s success, as many do, rather the spotlight is on the success of individuals; namely senior executives such as CEOs, Managing Directors, CFOs, CIOs, Directors, and senior-level management.

Nominees need to be employed in a full-time senior position for a private, public, not-for-profit, or government organisation in Australia that reaches an annual turnover of at least $10 million. Applications are set to close on June 30 and entries can be submitted at www.executiveawards.com.au. Finalists will be announced on Thursday August 18.

A panel of business professionals will judge the Executive of the Year Awards. Collectively, the  judges are well-respected experts in their industries, with vast experience in their professional careers. This year, the panel will include:

  • Naomi Simson, Founder, RedBalloon
  • Scott Stavretis, CEO, Acquire BPO
  • Mark van Dyck, Managing Director APAC, Compass Group
  • John Karagounis, CEO, The CEO Circle
  • Chris Dutton, CEO and Co-founder, The CEO Magazine
  • Daniel Di Loreto, Managing Director, The CEO Magazine
