One of Westinghouse’s product launch events, held in February this year, has been short-listed as a finalist in the 2015 Australian Event Awards. The event was managed by Sydney events company, Born Curious and held at the Exhibition Hall at Sydney’s Australian Technology Park and Atlantic Group in Docklands, Melbourne. Westinghouse hosted over 900 retailers and media across both events.

The large-scale, interactive event celebrated Westinghouse’s new appliances and brand story of practicality and pragmatism through a series of theatrical stage sets. The sets combined actors, products, projections and backdrops to reflect the challenges of running a household with the modern need for simple, practical appliances.

Westinghouse also introduced its new brand ambassador, Julia Morris, who addressed the audience via a pre-recorded video.

Electrolux Home Products, national brand and trade marketing manager, Richelle Barker, said the company was thrilled to know the hard work both Westinghouse and Born Curios put into the event was being recognised.

“The event was a huge success from an internal perspective, however, to see the event recognised from external parties is a fantastic feat for Westinghouse and a testament to Born Curious. We loved orchestrating an event that was something different and interactive to make it a really special night for our guests.”

Born Curious managing director, Sarah Warn, said the team was humbled to be short-listed and excited for the awards night.

“We love what we do every day and we work hard, so it’s great to know that our work has been noticed and appreciated. Working on the Westinghouse event was such a highlight because we were able to get really creative with the enormous space that we had, and work with a brand like Westinghouse that really resonates to the Australian consumer celebrating real Australian family life.”

The winners of The Australian Event Awards 2015 will be revealed on November 17 at Dolton House, Sydney.
