John Winning, CEO of the Winning Group and Founder of Appliances Online will address the Rotary Club of Sydney on Tuesday. He will talk about The Future of Retail and the enormous impact of the internet on the retail landscape.
Winning will also give some insights as to where Australian retailing is heading post 2015.
Winning started his career as a door-to-door salesman before working for his father’s business, Winning Appliances, as a delivery truck driver. In 2005, equipped with a laptop, a rented truck and a 1300 number diverted to a mobile phone, John established Appliances Online. Appliances Online now employs upwards of 150 people and is Australia’s largest online retailer of whitegoods and appliances.
Today, he heads the entire company, which includes Winning Appliances, Big Brown Box, Handy Crew and Appliances Online.
The Rotary Club of Sydney is one of Australia’s oldest Rotary Clubs with 140 members.
