The event was hosted at Crown Palladium, Melbourne and affectionately referred to in the industry as the ‘Catalogies’. Former designer and comedian Dave Thornton was the Master of Ceremonies and carried the crowd throughout the massive 43 award categories.

David Jones was the winner of Catalogue Retailer of the Year – Up to 1.5m while Domayne won its award for Catalogue Retailer of the Year – Up to 3.5m. They fought off finalist Chemmart, Myer, Nutrimetics, Harvey Norman, Telstra, The Good Guys, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart and Woolworths Supermarkets. Dan Murphy also won Catalogue Retailer of the Year – Over 3.5m.

There were over 700 entries with the  ACA stating that the finalists and winners submitted the highest quality of catalogue work the Awards program has seen.

“We noticed a shift to localised photography and styling this year, in the past there was a trend of stock product photography coming in from overseas, however this year the creative is more stylised and focused on the Australian market. Content has also improved as big brands are investing in rich content to build brand stories and messaging as well as implementing digital technologies such as augmented reality to add further content layers”,  ACA CEO,  Kellie Northwood said.
