Harvey Norman executive director, David Ackery made it clear in his Welcome to franchisees, suppliers and guests at the bi-annual conference in Melbourne on Monday that he valued the contribution that they had all had made to the success of the Harvey organisation.

“You, as industry leaders, have the visions, the knowledge, and the experience to help us pave our way into the future,” he said.

“You are truly our greatest asset today and tomorrow, and we could not accomplish what we do without your support and leadership. Throughout this conference, I ask you to stay engaged, keep us proactive and help us shape the future of retail in Australia.”

Yesterday , conference delegates got down to the hard work of assessing the latest products, technologies and supplier directions as the Harvey Norman conference opened with a schedule of ‘World Premier Presentations’ from suppliers. The sessions were led by Samsung, followed by Delonghi, Bosch and Fisher & Paykel.

Ackery then led a Franchisee Discussion from 3-4pm. By 7pm, Harvey Norman franchisees and suppliers kicked back at the 80’s Rock at the Wharf event.

A similar program is underway today and AEG has led the presentations followed by LG and Smeg. At 6.30pm Harvey’s Victorian sales staff will attend the Expo. Tomorrow, the presentations start with Hisense, then Breville, Groupe Seb and Electrolux Home Products. The pressure of the day will be relieved by the Comedy night at the Melbourne Pavilion.

Harvey Norman Partners Program today will be the Guy Grossi Lunch held at Florentino restaurant. Tomorrow, they have the choice of traveling to the Werribee Open park Zoo with lunch at the Shadofax Winery or the Queen Victoria Markets Gourmet Tour and lunch.

On Friday evening the Gala Dinner will be held at the Crowne Casino when the traditional awards will be announced.
