Woolworths withdrew from the telco space when Optus announced it was ending its contract with Woolworths Mobile in September 2013.
“Our customers want a trusted network at a great price and we are excited to deliver this with Woolworths Connect,” Woolworths head of telco, Jason Hair said. “We’ll also reward our valued Everyday Rewards customers by offering an additional discount every time they recharge. We are excited that we’ll be growing Woolworths Connect over the coming months, with additional services to be offered later in the year.”
The supermarket giant is offering two pre-paid mobile options: a $30 and a $45 plan that drop down to $27 and $40.50 respectively for Woolworths Everyday Reward Customers. Customers will need to purchase a $2 SIM card from Woolworths, BIG W and Woolworths Caltex Petrol sites.
For a $30 pre-paid mobile recharge, customers will receive 1.5GB of data and$650 call value. The $45 plan includes 3.5GB of data, $1,500 in call value and unlimited national SMS.
Woolworths Connect is also launching three pre-paid mobile broadband options, which includes offers under $15, $30 and $100.
