Ready to Reno Rumble: E&S Trading.

Ready to Reno Rumble: E&S Trading.

Lights! Camera! Renovation! Fans of DIY TV are currently salivating for the launch of the latest home renovation competition program, Reno Rumble. And looking to leverage the anticipated success of this show, hosted by The Block’s Scott Cam, is E&S Trading.

The Victorian family owned retailer has partnered with Reno Rumble, which will soon air on Channel Nine and affiliates, to be is official kitchen, bathroom and laundry products supplier. Joining E&S Trading in on-screen branding bliss will be brand partners including Miele, Smeg, Fisher & Paykel, ILVE, Electrolux, ASKO and Siemens.

In the past, brand and retail partners of TV renovation shows have enjoyed great exposure through these partnerships. The Good Guys, in particular, really shone through as a trusted source for appliances when it sponsored runaway TV phenomenon The BlockNo doubt E&S is looking to replicate those levels of penetration.

The show’s concept revolves around a nightly tussle between past contestants of The Block and former Channel Seven rival House Rules — the so-called Reno Rumble. In the ultra-competitive Australian TV landscape, it’s very rare to see stars from one network jump over to a rival, so that will certainly provide some interest to viewers.

Confirmed contestants for the 7:30pm weeknight show include Carly and Leighton, Jemma and Ben, Michelle and Steve, and Nick and Chris, all from House Rules. These ‘Blue Tongues’, as they will be known, with compete against ‘Redbacks’ from The Block: Jess and Ayden, Kyal and Kara, Josh and Jenna, and Michael and Carlene. What a line-up!

These DIY stars will go head-to-head to transform the suburban homes of ordinary Australians; well, ordinary Melbournites, anyway. The families offering up their homes win a “supercharged” makeover, the contestants win DIY fame and acclaim, Channel Nine wins big ratings and Scott Cam wins another Gold Logie! It’s win-win-win-win!

“The show will also see the E&S team work closely together with the renovating couples on site and at our showrooms, as they deliberate on the products needed to meet the design brief each week,” an excited spokesperson told me.

“Each home will be judged by interior design experts who have been briefed by the home owners on the style they want for their renovation.”

As an indication of how popular these shows are, The Block Triple Threat currently contributes four of the Top 20 shows in Australia, regularly rating over 1.3 million metro viewers per week.

I have a home that is filled with holes in the ceilings left by tradespersons who had a licence and business name only it didn’t belong to them and now we have been left with a quote of $36,000 plus the cost of a new fireplace $1500 to fix inside, unfortunately we had paid them $6,000 so they could buy materials etc and we have also just paid $18,040 to get the outside roof replaced, and we are pensioners. I have a husband who is terminally ill and I just wondered how do you get into a programme like Reno/Rumble.
    Thank you

I’m in Sydney and would love our dated, drab house to have a renovation. I’ve been on maternity leave and just haven’t had the time or money to even think about it. It would be a dream.

I have been watching the block for over 3 years and currently watching Reno rumble. Love the shows , they are engaging and also great entertainment. I have always wondered I can apply for my household to be selected as it is a small fibro home and has had some renovation to make room for our small family of 4 . I have two children under the age of two and due to both my husband and I need to work to keep the roof over our head. It will be such a life changing experience to have our house renovated especially as our eldest is continuously needing care in regards to his health. Please let me know I can apply as it would be a life changing experience and a true piece of heaven .

    Hi Reno Rumble,

You really need to shoot a series in Sydney, NSW and send your genius teams to fix our mums house. She has raised 3 of us alone for 16 years and is the most generous woman to everyone.

Sadly our mum has lost her job and our house is in severe disrepair and needs urgent fixing. No carpet on stairs, carpet in rooms stained, few holes in walls, walls need painting, bath chipped and damaged, even her bed rests on 2 milk crates, which is so sad.

We would love to surprise her, she is very deserving, so come to Sydney please Channel 9.

    Thanks Laura

I don’t know if its to late to post or ask for help or if its against the rules to ask when you’re still living in home, best to ask then not! I want my family to have a new home, it bothers me that it’s carried for years that my parents haven’t finished it and never will. The short story for my parents is from the beginning close to 30 years ago they tried reinventing the house (which reinvention wasn’t for them!) but they were both shift night nurse’s and to busy to work on the house and made the house bigger but never able to finish it, my parents made a family of 6 kids now grownups and its like this family can’t be a family because this house was never finished, since it was never finished my parents have been unhappy and put the hate on each other about the house, and also the house has turned cluttered and a horrible environment for anyone to live in, I don’t know if my mum would ever want anyone to change the house completely since its 100 years old, plus its 14 rooms to big of a project!

I believe if this became a new home, like actually having windows in this house! And having light from the sun I could cry right now just dreaming it! This house is like a cave, to dark and cold every night in winter! My parents can live the dream the house they’ve always wanted my parents wouldn’t be so damn stressed or throw hate on everything on themselves or each other, and I believe it would bring 8 people in this family back together again or soon to be grand kids.

Thank you guys for giving people happiness out there, doing a great job! 🙂

    2 hour drive from Sydney

    Kind regards

  20. Layla Sun 14 Jun 2015 at 8:27 pm #

Hi my name is Layla Nassar,
I am 14 yrs old and share a bed and a room with my 11 yr old sister. We share a bed because, our room is way too small to fit two beds. We fight every night, we squash each other in the bed all the time. She starts crying and wish she had her own room. We have been sharing a bed since she got out of the cot. I also wish I had a desk to study on in my dream room. our house was built in 1928 and and in need of huge repair. My brothers room (who is twins with my sister) floorboards have been breaking and leaving holes in the floor. My parents bedroom is very very small bedroom and could not even walk through the door because the bed takes up a 3rd of the bedroom. Our kitchen is also very small and could fit only one person. It also has limited benchspace with no island bench. We spend most of our time in the kitchen and really hope for more space. My mother is a teacher and a hardworking mother. She also is hoping to have an study to work. She usually has to go to the local library to finish her planning for the next day. I hope you can help us and make us haqppy in our home.
