Omega Appliances will this year be promoting the Europeanness of most its cooking appliances through a groundbreaking new promotion to give away a Scrambler Ducati motorbike and a Vespa Primavera 125 scooter to one lucky customer.

The promotion will be running nearly all of the year, from 1 March through 31 December 2015, and there will also be merchandise packs available as a gift with purchase throughout the competition period.

To go into the draw for the Scrambler Ducati and the Vespa a customer must purchase any Omega appliance and fill out an entry form. Customers can purchase multiple appliances for multiple entries, but they must fill out a separate form for each purchase and entry.

“We plan for 2015 to be one of a kind in terms of promotions,” Omega brand manager Karine Tobin told me. “Omega wants to emphasise the fact that most of its cooking appliances are made in Europe and create excitement.”

The major prize will be supplemented with a gift with purchase promotion on specific products throughout 2015. On offer will be a range of Ducati and Vespa merch including mugs, caps, t-shirts, overnight bags, clocks and backpacks. These gift with purchase promotions will be available via redemption and will be run at different times with different retailers.

Tobin told me that while the two bikes were highly aspirational, the gifts with purchase were more about adding a personal touch to the transaction.

“The latest and coolest motorbike launched in December 2014 , the Ducati Scrambler introduces a new stylish lifestyle. Omega will get one of the first to land in Australia in March 2015, direct from Italy. Meanwhile, Vespa is so famous and definitely timeless. The merchandise offers are not related to cooking but are a personal and enjoyable gift.”

Omega will be marketing this promotion through in-store POS displays, social media, posters and banners, and decals.

As with all consumer promotions, there are stacks of terms and conditions, so this article should only be used as a guide.
