JB Hi-Fi’s music streaming service JB NOW nominated for ARIA Award

Australian retailer JB Hi-Fi has been nominated for an ARIA Award. The publicly listed consumer electronics chain has been nominated in the Outstanding Digital Service category for its JB NOW music streaming product.

JB Hi-Fi is up against last year’s winner Apple’s iTunes, as well as Spotify, Vevo and YouTube for this award.

JB NOW was launched in late 2012 as a way of generating new revenues as physical CD sales started slowing in stores like JB Hi-Fi. The service has expanded to include books, radio and video content. At $8.25 per month for premium access to the primary music service, based on a 12-month subscription, JB NOW is one of the most competitively priced options in a crowded market.

The ARIA Awards will be announced on 26 November 2014.
